Another tech manager leaves Steadfast

Steadfast has confirmed the departure of EGM Underwriting Agency Technology Services Niels Laaper.

“Niels Laaper has done a great job in the acquisition and refining of the Underwriter Central (UC) platform and built a strong team headed by Justin Hurrell, based in Melbourne,” Steadfast said.

“As the project is completed and all the UC operations are located from our Victorian office, Justin has stepped up to take the lead as Niels did not want to relocate to Melbourne.

“Niels has left the business with our very best wishes and will take a well-earned break while he considers the next stage of his career”.

According to LinkedIn, Mr Laaper held his most recent role at Steadfast for more than five years, and was previously Steadfast Hub CEO for more than three years.

As insuranceNEWS.com.au has previously reported, Steadfast EGM Broker Technology Lisa Woodley also left the company last month after a restructure of the company’s technology arm.

Ms Woodley worked at Steadfast for 12 years and led the establishment of the group’s technology business.

She was instrumental in the creation of the Steadfast Client Trading Platform, which wrote $440 million in gross written premium last financial year. She also led the redesign of the Insight broking platform launched in 2016.
