Asia Mideast Insurance and Reinsurance (AMIR) has expanded its team with the appointment of Youssef Al Kareh as Chief Strategy Officer.

Mr Al Kareh has 25 years’ experience spanning conventional and Takaful markets, including in direct insurance, reinsurance, captives and alternative risk transfer solutions, broking relationship management, risk management, asset management and investments.

At AMIR, Mr Al Kareh will be primarily responsible for identifying strategic initiatives designed to grow and expand the business’ portfolio.

Previously, Mr Al Kareh was Chief Technical Officer at Warba Insurance Company in Kuwait and in Bahrain has held roles including Regional GM and Executive Vice President at Damana. He has also worked with Marsh in London as Vice President of the Structured Risk Practice Unit.

Mr Al Kareh has recently relocated with his family to Australia and is based in Sydney.
