Allianz has hired 24 refugees as permanent employees, as part of its educational support and employment program with Settlement Services International.

The insurer says it wants corporate Australia to build similar programs and partnerships so refugees can gain access to education and employment.

It has spent $264,000 awarding education scholarships over three years.
