AILA to host ‘Sunny Side Up’ conference
The Australian Insurance Law Association’s annual conference will be held at the Gold Coast in September, with the theme Sunny Side Up.
Speakers will explore opportunities for insurance to “positively influence the community, the climate and our way of living moving forward”, president Melanie Quixley says.
Chief Justice Helen Bowskill of the Queensland Supreme Court will speak, as will representatives from Delta Insurance, Chubb, Axa XL, Liberty Specialty Markets, Suncorp, WTW, WorkCover Queensland, Gallagher Bassett, BMS Risk Solutions and more.
Finity principal Sharanjit Paddam will present findings from this year’s home insurance affordability report, prepared for the Actuaries Institute and comparing premiums with census data on household incomes.
Mr Paddam will also explore forthcoming sustainability reporting standards, which from June 2026 will require insurers to disclose climate-related financial information.
The conference is at Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 11-13. Register here.
