AILA to host international law congress in Melbourne
The Australian Insurance Law Association is set to host the World Insurance Congress later this year in Melbourne, with early ticketing opened for the event.
International insurance law association AIDA, which started in Luxembourg in 1960, held the previous congress in Rio de Janeiro in 2018. The event returns to Australia for the first time since 1994 when it was hosted in Sydney.
The congress, themed “Insurance Upside Down” will start with presentations from AIDA working parties that closely examine specific insurance issues from global and regional perspectives.
Panelists and expert speakers will then deliver sessions directed at the areas of climate, conflict, environmental, social and governance (ESG) and careers, with disruption, innovation, sustainability, affordability, collaboration and emerging and mature markets among topics woven into discussions.
The event will take place from August 30 to September 1 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. More details are available here.
