AILA names Ron Shorter award finalists
The Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA) has announced regional finalists for its annual Ron Shorter Memorial Award for public speaking.
The Victorian and Tasmanian finalists are Winnie Chen of HWL Ebsworth, Riley Gay of Norton Rose Fulbright and Rumesh Gnanaseelan of Minter Ellison.
The region’s final will be held on July 18 at Colin Biggers & Paisley’s office in Melbourne.
NSW and SA finalists are Jane-Elise Harabopoulos from Wotton + Kearney in Sydney, Elise Holmes of Minter Ellison in Adelaide and Jackson McDonald of GSA Insurance Brokers in Sydney.
The final is on July 25 at Colin Biggers & Paisley’s Sydney office.
Queensland finalists are Fergus Geary of McInnes Wilson, Naazihah Jamal of Gilchrist Connell and William Wilson of Cunningham Lindsey.
The final is on August 3 at Colin Biggers & Paisley’s Brisbane office.
Finalists for the WA award are yet to be selected, with a final due in Perth late next month or early September.
AILA members and industry personnel can attend the free events.
Each of the four winners will receive a trophy and a trip to the Asia-Pacific Insurance Conference in Singapore on October 18-20.
