AILA names public speaking finalists
The Australian Insurance Law Association has announced finalists for the Ron Shorter Memorial Award for public speaking in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
The finalists for Victoria are Adrian Di Pasquale (AIG), Erica Lawson (Logie-Smith Lanyon) and Alexis Taylor (Wotton + Kearney). They will speak on an insurance topic before a judging panel on July 19.
The judges are Justice John Middleton of the Federal Court, CGU National Legal and Claims Manager Allison Grice and MD Growth Strategies at Aon Risk Solutions Giselle Walther.
The finalists for NSW are Martin Rowney (HWL Ebsworth), Natalie Donnan (McInnes Wilson) and Camilla Griffin (Suncorp).
The NSW judges are Justice Cliff Hoeben of the NSW Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, Steadfast CEO Robert Kelly and AIG Australia CEO Noel Condon.
The NSW winner will be chosen on July 26.
The finalists for Queensland are Tenniele Horton (QBE), Christina Neylon (Ausure) and Christopher Smith (HWL Ebsworth).
The judges are Justice Anthe Philippides of the Queensland Court of Appeal, Director Queensland at Marsh & McLennan Tony Shaw and Liberty International Underwriters Senior Claims Specialist Michael Gear.
The Queensland winner will be chosen on August 4.
The Ron Shorter Memorial Award, which is again sponsored by Colin Biggers & Paisley and Unisearch, was conceptualised by Mr Shorter before his death in 2012. It has been running for five years in NSW, made its debut in Victoria last year and will be presented in Queensland for the first time this year.
