AILA launches nominations for industry award
The Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA) has opened applications for its annual public speaking competition for young professionals, the Ron Shorter Award.
The competition will have 30 chosen applicants attend an online public speaking training workshop hosted by the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) on May 19 before giving a short speech on a selected topic. Three finalists will be chosen based on a judging panel of AIM and AILA representatives.
The finalists will then be asked to provide a 10 minute presentation at a live final in Sydney on August 23 in front of an audience of insurance industry professionals. The prize winner will be awarded $1000, with the second and third place taking $500 and $250, respectively.
Applicants are required to be aged 35 or under and are asked to provide their submission, including their chosen topic, to AILA before April 28.
