AIG extends All Blacks partnership
AIG has renewed its sponsorship of New Zealand Rugby for six years, for an undisclosed sum.
It follows a five-year deal signed in 2012 reportedly worth about $NZ80 million ($76.27 million).
The extension means the global insurer’s logo will remain on the All Blacks jersey.
President and CEO Peter Hancock says the sponsorship “will continue to serve as a valuable marketing tool and as an inspiration for excellence to AIG people”.
The group says it has worked with New Zealand Rugby in 64 countries and extended the sport’s reach to millions in the past four years, staging events in Beijing, Chicago, Dubai, Dublin, Hong Kong, London, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Toronto.
The most recent international showcase was last weekend in Chicago, where Ireland scored their first-ever win over the New Zealanders, scoring 40-29 to bring the All Blacks’ record of 18 straight wins to an end.
