Cunningham Lindsey was named New Zealand’s top claims service provider at the New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards last week.

Overall, 13 businesses and individuals across 12 categories were honoured at the event, which was organised by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

AIG won the innovation of the year award for its CyberEdge product, the first comprehensive coverage for cyber attacks and data loss in the Asia-Pacific region.

Other winners were:

• Emerging young professional – Alistair Monk, QBE
• Intermediated insurance company – NZI
• Large broking company – Willis
• Life insurance company – Asteron Life
• Service provider – JB Hi-Fi
• Small/medium broking company – ICIB Insurance Brokers
• Insurance leader – Carl O’Shea, Crombie Lockwood
• Lifetime achievement – Martyn Norrie, formerly with Cunningham Lindsey; and Bob Oldnall, Munich Re.
