Agile appoints ANZ aviation leader
Agile Insurance Group has promoted Jamie Connor to the role of head of aviation for Australia and New Zealand.
He has been a senior underwriter since joining Agile in 2019, supporting Michael Dalton, who has moved into the global head of aviation role following the launch of Agile’s Lloyd’s syndicate in May.
Mr Connor has two decades’ experience in aviation insurance, starting as a claims handler in the London market in 2005 before moving with his family to Australia in 2010, working as an underwriter and briefly as a specialist broker.
“Jamie has always been a standout in the market, and we’re very pleased he’s taking on this next role,” Agile CEO Robin Barham said.
Agile, an Australian insurtech established as a Lloyd’s coverholder in 2015, has 60 staff based in Australia and the Philippines. It writes aviation, accident and health, casualty, construction, cyber, financial lines, marine, property and retail travel.
The launch of its underwriting syndicate at Lloyd’s was followed by approval for its Australian managing general agent to be a syndicate service company and the establishment of New Zealand operations.
“I am very happy to continue my journey with Agile in leading the aviation team in Australia and New Zealand and to build on what already is a strong offering in the aviation market,” Mr Connor said. “It’s an exciting time for the Agile group as we develop the Lloyds syndicate, and we’ve been able to continue working with the leading aviation syndicates in Lloyd’s.”
