AFMA/IAAA seeks to speak for authorised reps

Authorised representatives are one of the few industry groupings without their own association, but the Australian Fire Managers Association (AFMA) and Insurance Advisers Association of Australia (IAAA) now aim to fill that gap.

Delegates to the combined groups’ conference in Melbourne last week discussed the need for a representative body to be the voice of authorised representatives.

AFMA/IAAA President Jacqui King told insuranceNEWS.com.au a membership drive has begun and the organisation is working on strategies.

The group awarded honorary membership to former broker and well-known MC Martin Walker for his conference work over the years.

The Willoughby Award for outstanding service to the association was presented to George Sismondi, director of Asset General Insurance Services in NSW.
