Specialist insurer Affiliated FM is offering one broker a scholarship to the FM Global Research Campus in the US.

The centre, in Rhode Island, conducts scientific research into property loss prevention and product testing, with laboratories specialising in fire technology, natural hazards, electrical risks and hydraulics.

Director Glen Drinnan says eligible brokers must work for an Affiliated FM-supporting broker, have experience on an Affiliated FM or equivalent-style account and write a 500-word discussion document on the subject “What is the real cost of a major property loss?”

Entries close on March 8.
