AFAC names new CEO

Rob Webb has been promoted to CEO at the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC), effective December 13, as current chief Stuart Ellis retires.

Mr Webb is currently AFAC’s Director, National Projects and Innovation and Program Director for the Australian Fire Danger Ratings System.

He spent 26 years at the Bureau of Meteorology, where he was Deputy CEO and led the Bureau’s multi-hazard service delivery during some of Australia’s worst natural disasters.

Specialising in extreme weather services from the mid 1990s, he has since forged strong partnerships with the emergency management sector.

AFAC aims to drive national consistency through collaboration and innovation.
