John Evans has replaced Jenny Lyons as President of the Actuaries Institute.

Mr Evans is a director of the Centre for Analysis of Complex Financial Systems and has previously held roles in the Dean’s Unit at the University of Sydney Business School and as head of risk and actuarial studies at the University of NSW Business School.

The institute’s VP is Nicolette Rubinsztein, a director at software group Class, and the VP KPMG’s Hoa Bui.

Mr Evans says Big Data will be a key driver of growth and the institute must cater for emerging practice areas to attract members and provide alternative career paths.
