Actuaries hold general insurance forum
The Actuaries Institute will host a two-day seminar next month to discuss issues affecting the general insurance industry’s future.
There will be four major plenary sessions at the November 17-18 event, with speakers addressing topics on the theme “insuring tomorrow”.
Speakers include Hollard Insurance CEO Richard Enthoven, Willis Re MD Ty Birkett and QBE Group Head of Capital Modelling Andy White.
The seminar will take place at the Hilton Sydney.
“Tomorrow’s world will be very different from today,” says the Actuaries Institute. “How can the actuarial profession help the general insurance industry insure tomorrow?”
With the evolving global economic landscape, the industry needs to adapt and adopt new ways of doing business if it wants to stay relevant, it says.
The first day of the seminar will discuss general insurance market issues while technical and operational issues will be tackled on the second day.
