Actuaries examine resilience in inquiry response
The Actuaries Institute will examine resilience, responses to natural perils and longevity issues in its submission to the Federal Government’s financial system inquiry.
President Daniel Smith told insuranceNEWS.com.au the institute has formed a working group to prepare a submission, which will be its major external priority this year.
Mr Smith, of Taylor Fry, became president this year, with Estelle Pearson from Finity and Lindsay Smartt as VPs.
He says actuaries are increasingly taking up roles in risk management, media strategy, data analytics, banking and public health, and the institute will seek ways to help them with education and development programs.
