Actuaries call for institute rule changes
Actuaries Institute members have called an extraordinary general meeting to discuss proposed changes to their constitution.
They want a president, senior VP and VP elected at the first meeting of the institute’s council each calendar year.
They also propose barring presidents from staying in the position for more than two consecutive years.
The council currently elects the VP at the last meeting of the year. The following year they become a senior VP, and in the subsequent year they are elected president.
The meeting will also vote on amendments to voting procedures at council elections, plans to create a mission statement and some minor administrative changes to the constitution.
The meeting will be held in Melbourne and Sydney on October 16.
