Achmea, GrainGrowers join forces to support agriculture

Specialist farm insurer Achmea Australia and industry body GrainGrowers have agreed a strategic collaboration to provide a platform for the grains industry to share knowledge, risk mitigation strategies and best practices.

The initiative aims to support the large Australian agricultural sector to “feed the world” and achieve an ambition to reach $100 billion of farm gate value by 2030.

"The agricultural industry is stronger together, and Achmea Australia is looking forward to working collaboratively with the grains industry so that we can support its future sustainable growth and feed a growing global population,” Achmea Australia CEO Emma Thomas said.

The organisations will host events, including an International Women’s Day luncheon on March 8 in Wagga Wagga, and a dedicated risk management sessions at the 2022 Innovation Generation Conference for young farmers and agribusiness professionals, to be held in Sydney on July 18-20.

GrainGrowers CEO David McKeon says Achmea Australia’s co-operative values and commitment to live sustainably makes the insurer a great fit to support progressive and profit-focused growers in producing nutritious grains.

“The GrainGrowers team is delighted to work alongside Achmea Australia to support growers across a range of aspects, including risk management, climate variability and sustainability,” he said.
