WA-based Grace Insurance acquires Horizon brokerage

Grace Insurance has acquired Horizon General Insurance Brokers, based in the Perth suburb of Stirling, and appointed Grant Bowen to manage the portfolio.

Mr Bowen was formerly state manager at Miramar Underwriting Agency, Ansvar and Strata Community Insurance, and also spent years at Allianz and Zurich.

“I am very proud to be part of the Grace Insurance journey and I look forward to working with Horizon and our clients with all of their insurance needs,” Mr Bowen said.

Grace Director Frans du Plessis says the Grace Insurance Stirling office is “officially open for business,” and welcomed Mr Bowen, who will manage the Horizon general portfolio.

“Exciting times. We welcome all our new clients, friends and new business partners and are looking forward to our continued partnership with The Horizon Group,” he said.

Mr du Plessis, a 2022 finalist for NIBA WA Broker of the Year, told insuranceNEWS.com.au in August the team of 12 was growing rapidly in other Australian states and had notched up eight acquisitions.

“We know how we manage them and take care of our new valued clients. We have a high retention of clients and tend to build the newly acquired book of business up and grow the portfolio,” he said.

“We're one of the fastest growing ARs in WA and I think we are now one of the largest ARs in CBN in WA.”
