Vero has been crowned 2023 Large General Insurer of the Year by National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) members, while Liberty Specialty Markets is Specialty Insurer of the Year and NTI is Underwriting Agency of the Year. 

The awards were presented at the annual NIBA Convention Gala Dinner at The Star Gold Coast on Tuesday. 

The three winners were highly recommended in an annual Broker Market Survey due to their excellence in servicing, flexible products and being the most trusted partners of brokers. 

“Thank you for voting for Vero and for your continued support,” Vero said.  

NTI said its back-to-back wins in 2021, 2022 and 2023 reflect unwavering commitment to go above and beyond for broker partners and customers. 

“A huge thank you to those that took part in the survey and to NIBA network for recognising NTI as the market leader across our chosen categories,” it said. 

NIBA CEO Philip Kewin says over 720 brokers, a record number, participated in this year’s survey, providing a deep understanding of brokers’ expectations, brand perceptions and broker customer experience.  

“These insights are used to measure the attitudes and engagement of brokers with regards to insurers and determine outstanding performers amongst insurers in a sophisticated and robust way,” NIBA says.  

Liberty competed against finalists Berkley Insurance Australia and Berkshire Hathaway. 

Vero competed against finalists Chubb and Zurich Insurance.  

NTI competed against finalists Emergence Insurance and Global Transport & Automotive Insurance Solutions.
