UIG announces key appointment
Authorised representative network United Insurance Group (UIG) has appointed experienced industry executive Paul Mattiassi as Broker Services Manager.
The role has been created to help manage UIG’s significant expansion, and Mr Mattiassi will work with the network’s brokers on issues including placement, claims, systems and compliance.
Mr Mattiassi is based in Melbourne and reports to UIG General Manager Trevor Howard.
Mr Mattiassi has almost 35 years’ experience in the insurance industry and has set up and run underwriting agencies and brokerages in Australia, and worked in the US, Singapore and Hong Kong.
“It’s the diversity of this role that really excites me, and being involved in the continued growth of UIG,” he said.
“With the majority of the group being more experienced brokers, I will be focused on developing our placement facilities and dealing with the more complex placement opportunities that are coming through. In developing those facilities, we aim to attract more authorised representatives that complement the profile of the UIG Group.”
UIG, formed in 2008, has grown to incorporate 35 associated businesses and more than 100 individual authorised representatives. It is part of the Steadfast Group network.
