More than 400 brokers and 132 exhibitors attended the Underwriting Agencies Council Market Exchange in Brisbane yesterday.

UAC CEO Jenny Bax told insuranceNEWS.com.au the new venue – the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre – provided more space and the event received great feedback.

“It was amazing. We build and hope they come, and they just keep coming,” she said.

“People were delighted with the venue, and the buzz and energy. They love being able to put faces to names, and many people say they didn’t realise there are so many new markets, and new agencies offering additional capacity.”

UAC has already held Market Exchanges, previously known as expos, in Canberra, Wagga Wagga, the Gold Coast and Melbourne.

Still to come are Parramatta on August 7, Adelaide on September 11, Launceston on October 16 and Perth on November 1.
