Tributes paid to ‘beloved friend and colleague’

Adelaide broker Rob Mitchell died on August 14 after a long battle with cancer. He was 57.

Mr Mitchell worked in the insurance industry for more than 30 years as an underwriter and broker, and specialised in liability and business cover for the amusements industry.

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and colleague,” employer Holdfast Insurance Brokers said.

“Rob was a valued member of Holdfast Insurance Brokers for 25 years, known for his unwavering dedication, kindness and professionalism.

“He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of working with him. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.”

Mr Mitchell was an Adelaide Crows supporter and had a passion for motor racing. He has been described as a “loyal, cheeky friend to many” who “took life by the hands and made it his own”.

He is survived by his children Jake, Courtney, Angelina and Shardai, grandchildren Austin, Cohen and Isla, and partner Jane.

A funeral service was held at Centennial Park Florey Chapel on Tuesday.
