Tributes flow for Insurance Advisernet AR Robert Di Pasquale

A funeral service will be held in Melbourne tomorrow for broker Robert Di Pasquale, who died last week aged 64 from pancreatic cancer.

Mr Di Pasquale was an Insurance Advisernet authorised representative for seven years, and formerly Broking Manager at Fenton Green & Co where he headed a broking team of 18. He held senior roles at Aon Risk Solutions from 1996 to 2012, and had also been Minet Victorian State Manager.

Austbrokers Corporate Client Service Director Kris Ekeberg said on LinkedIn he had been “a longtime colleague and widely loved mischievous soul”.

"When I first moved to Melbourne in the 1980s I didn't drink coffee nor did I like Italian food. As my boss at that time, Robert wasted no time correcting my behaviour. Thankyou Roberto for saving me,” Mr Ekeberg said.

Acuity Risk Solutions Director Derek Wickett worked with Mr Di Pasquale at Minet and says he had been a lover of Formula One racing.

“Robert was proud of his Italian history. We spent many conversations talking about Ferrari and their chances (or not) for the following season. He was always good for a laugh, gone way too soon and he will be missed.”

Aon Director & Cyber Insurance Practice Leader Michael Parrant said many people in the industry today “owe more than they know to Rob”.

“He has played, and will continue to play, a big role in shaping individual careers and more broadly the industry into what it is today. Farewell Rob, and thank you,” he said.

Aon CEO Multinational Clients Jason Disborough said: “Robert was one of the true gentlemen in the industry. A real pleasure to work with.”

Mr Di Pasquale is survived by his wife France, and children Adrian and Caitlin. The funeral will be held at 10:45am tomorrow at St Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 158 Military Road, Avondale Heights.
