Steadfast Convention raises $380,000 for homelessness charity
More than $380,000 was raised for homelessness charity Orange Sky Australia at the Steadfast Convention in Brisbane.
The disco-themed gala dinner on Tuesday night marked the end of the convention and was an opportunity for attendees to donate to this year’s chosen charity.
More than 2000 people attended the largest general insurance conference in Australia, with organisers reporting that previous records have been broken.
The convention opened with a spectacular welcome event on Sunday night at Howard Smith Wharves.
Keynote speakers included Lloyd’s Chief of Markets Patrick Tiernan, co-founder of online fashion retailer The Iconic Adam Jacobs, and former rugby league star Johnathan Thurston.
Orange Sky Australia supports people experiencing homelessness and hardship through access to free laundry, warm showers and “genuine conversation”.
