Queensland broking body shapes up for next stage of ‘evolution’
Regional Insurance Brokers GM Danny Brandon has been re-elected to serve a second term as Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers president.
North Queensland Insurance Brokers director Ron Bellert and Link Insurance Brokers director Tom Cullinan have retained their VP and treasurer roles on the nine-person board.
Completing the board are members Heather Peirano of Piranha Insurance Brokers; Don Tickle of Rivers Insurance Brokers; Andrew Hinz of Resilium; Gary Fletcher of Apex Insurance; Chris Murfin of East Coast Insurance Brokers; and Sean Bemrose of Tony Bemrose Insurance Brokers.
The peak body nominated its board for the financial year at its annual convention at Sanctuary Cove, Hope Island.
Mr Brandon says the organisation continues to extend its reach after broker membership grew 12% and business partner membership rose 23% last financial year.
“CQIB has been a uniquely Queensland insurance institution since 1980,” he said. “With ... our industry over that time being ever changing, our association again looks to evolve to what the Queensland insurance market needs from our services now and into the future.”
He says the peak body will focus on six areas after reviewing its schedule of activities last year: training; monthly breakfast meetings; the annual convention; its mentoring program; networking; and growing its membership.
