PSC sale speculation continues
The possible sale of listed Australian broking group PSC continues to attract media attention, with three “bidders” named by sources.
UK-based Insurance Insider says Marsh, Gallagher and Ardonagh are “in talks to acquire PSC” and are “seriously engaged and jostling for position”.
The report says “talks are more advanced than previously indicated” and “sources expect the process to move rapidly from this point”.
However, while PSC says it is engaged in talks, it has also stressed that nothing may eventuate.
“PSC confirms that it has recently received multiple strategic approaches and is in discussions that may or may not lead to an offer being made for PSC,” it said to the Australian Securities Exchange last week.
“Strategic discussions always require a period of information sharing and exploration. Consistent with that experience current discussions are subject to due diligence and negotiation and remain incomplete.
“It is uncertain whether these discussions will lead to any specific outcome.”
