NIBA sees ‘international best practice’ at US intermediary conference

The National Insurance Brokers Association says it gained “critical insights” on issues facing the global industry at a recent intermediary conference in the US.

President Nick Cook, CEO Richard Klipin and ex-president Gary Okely engaged on issues such as regulatory pressures and premium affordability at the World Federation of Insurance Intermediaries forum in Washington.

“Attending the WFII conference … was an invaluable opportunity for NIBA to engage with global insurance leaders and bring back critical insights to the Australian market,” Mr Cook said.

“In a rapidly evolving risk landscape, it’s essential that we learn from international best practices to address key insurance challenges.”

The NIBA delegation also met with representatives from the US Treasury Department to hear how political stakeholders in other countries are tackling global insurance issues.

Mr Klipin said: “By fostering collaboration … we can help advocate for policies that strengthen the role of brokers and ensure better outcomes for Australian consumers.”

The WFII conference was attended by more than 100 insurance associations and organisations from 80 countries.
