The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has revealed its finalists for this year’s SA/NT Young Broker of the Year.

The announcement almost completes the full set of 2022 finalists nationally, with just the Broker of the Year finalists for SA/NT to still be decided after competitors in NSW/ACT, Queensland, WA and Victoria/Tasmania were announced in recent weeks.

NIBA says that in SA/NT, Marsh Principal NT Shaun Thomas, Maxton Account Executive Joseph Cuzzocrea, and Be Covered Insurance Brokers MD Candice Klau will vie for the 2022 regional honours in the Young Broker category.

The winner, to be announced on July 22 at the NIBA SA gala lunch, will compete nationally for the national Warren Tickle Memorial Award and join the prestigious Young Brokers Alumni Program of sponsor Vero.

Darwin-based Mr Thomas says he feels “fortunate to be involved in this industry”.

"We’re afforded an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our clients’ lives, their businesses and the wider community as a whole.”

Adelaide -based Mr Cuzzocrea is passionate about professional development and a member of the NIBA Young Professional Committee, and says being a finalist "gives me so much confidence in my abilities”.

“I feel recognised and appreciated in what I do every day and I’m so grateful to be part of it all. To sit with the leaders of the industry that I admire every day is such an honour.”

Ms Klau, who is also based in Adelaide and is Chair of the SA NIBA Young Professional Committee, says the honour has “made me pause for a moment and appreciate just how far I’ve come”.

Tomorrow, the two WA 2022 broker award winners will be revealed at Crown Perth, while the Queensland winners will be crowned on July 13, and the NSW/ACT winners on July 21.

In Victoria/Tasmania, Hobart-based Gallagher Senior Account Executive Daniel Quintin has been crowned 2022 Broker of the Year, while Aon/Affinity Insurance Brokers Client Manager Greg Shallard won Young Professional Broker.
