NIBA presents 2022 broking awards
WTW Account Director Property & Casualty Sally Coulton, Thompson Insurance Director William Thompson, and Insurance AdviserNet Founder and Chairman Ian Carr have all won 2022 National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) awards.
Brisbane-based Ms Coulton was named the winner of this year’s QBE-sponsored Stephen Ball Memorial Award for Insurance Broker of the Year at a celebration dinner at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney last night.
Sunshine Coast-based Mr Thompson was awarded the Vero-sponsored Warren Tickle Memorial Award for Young Professional Broker of the Year.
The Lex McKeown Trophy was awarded to Mr Carr, a long-standing NIBA member with a 40-year career in insurance broking.
NIBA CEO Philip Kewin says all finalists showed true commitment to their clients and the community and “embody ongoing personal and professional development”.
"The future of broking looks very bright with a passionate, intelligent and professional group,” he said.
QBE Australia Pacific GM Partnerships Lorelle Hillman says Ms Coulton’s tailored customer service, exceptional relationships and dedication to mentoring shone through.
"With the current market conditions, Sally demonstrated an impressive range of strategies to prepare and get the best for her clients. It's brokers like Sally who help raise the bar across the industry,” she said.
Vero Head of Distribution Commercial Insurance Anthony Pagano says Mr Thompson has a genuine passion for giving back to the community and is a strong advocate for the insurance industry.
“We’re excited to provide ongoing support to him and other young brokers across the country,” he said.
Mr Carr founded Insurance Advisernet in 1996 after holding various general management roles, and heading operations at Westpac Insurance Brokers.
"Ian has provided outstanding service to the Association and has made a significant contribution to the broking profession,” Mr Kewin said.
The celebration dinner marked NIBA’s 40th anniversary.
