The National Insurance Brokers Association has opened applications for this year’s claims broker of the year award.

The award, sponsored by Sedgwick, celebrates the contributions of NIBA brokers and the winner will be “a leading example of someone who upholds the highest standards of professionalism”.

Applicants must spend at least 75% of their time in a “claims-specific role”, and will be assessed based on their advocacy, technical ability, client-underwriter relationships and claims outcomes.

The winner will receive a ticket to NIBA’s annual convention in October, with three nights’ accommodation and return flights. Last year’s award went to North Queensland Insurance Brokers claims manager Charmaine Field.

Entries for the award will close on September 19. The winner will be announced at the convention on October 21.
