NIBA award winner steps up for charity hike

Marsh Corporate and Commercial Leader in Victoria and recipient of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) 2023 Victorian/Tasmania Broker of the Year Award, Nick Hodges, will take part in a fundraising hike in October for Make-A-Wish Australia.

Mr Hodges says the six-day trek on the Overland Track in Tasmania provides a valuable opportunity to raise funds for the charity, which helps provide aid and opportunities to children who suffer from critical illnesses.

“When I won the award, I wanted to put that to good use and was keen to do something positive through the platform I had been given,” Mr Hodges said.

He also reflects on the fundraiser as an opportunity to honour former NIBA president Graham Stevens. Mr Stevens died in May last year following a battle with cancer, and the Victorian/Tasmania Broker of the Year Award trophy is named after him.

“My commitment is part of my vision to undertake some form of a charity or community initiative as the Vic/Tas Broker of the Year winner, and in doing so, honour the legacy of the great Graham Stevens, after whom the trophy is named,” Mr Hodges said.

Mr Hodges has set a $15,000 goal for the fundraiser, which will remain open to donations until October.
