New CFC partnerships head to target emerging cyber markets

CFC has appointed Philippa Berry as head of portfolio partnerships, responsible for developing the business’ new white-label cyber covers globally.

It says there is “tremendous potential” to increase uptake of standalone cyber in underpenetrated markets by working with incumbent insurers.

The cyber specialist’s team is “looking to take our expertise into emerging markets and partner with established insurers that have local experience and brand presence, and a mutual ambition to grow the cyber market in their respective countries”, Ms Berry says.

London-based Ms Berry joined CFC in 2018 as a corporate cyber underwriter and was formerly an account executive at Howden Insurance Brokers. In her newly created role, she will also arrange reinsurance for CFC’s cyber business and manage corporate relationships, including with capacity providers.

“Philippa has huge knowledge of and experience in the global cyber market and is perfectly positioned to drive the development of this new proposition for our business,” CFC CEO Andy Holmes said.

“Penetration rates outside the US remain low ... it’s not changing fast enough and we believe the industry needs to seize the initiative to bring proactive cyber solutions to markets around the world.”

CFC is headquartered in London and has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, New York, San Francisco, Austin, Toronto and Brussels.
