Moves round-up: Network Insurance names COO, IAG team confirmed

Steadfast-backed Network Insurance Group has appointed Pete Stansfield as COO, effective from Monday.

Mr Stansfield, who reports to CEO Andrew Broughton, was most recently Head of Growth and Business Development at Crawford & Company – a role he took in November 2020, according to his LinkedIn account.

Before Crawford, he was head of partnerships at QBE Insurance, covering financial institutions, compulsory third party, motor trades & motorcycle.

Mr Stansfield takes over the position from Luke Calderon who is leaving to run his own business.

Network Insurance announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post, saying he has extensive global experience ranging across multiple industries and geographies including in London where he headed Aviva’s Broker Propositions.

In another appointment, Network Insurance says Damian Hicks joined last month as GM Schemes & Affinities, also reporting to Mr Broughton.

“[He] already has a significant national footprint in the [schemes and affinities] arena and the appointment of [Mr Hicks] into this long-term strategic role signifies our intent to outperform strongly into the future,” Mr Broughton said.

Mr Hicks joins the business following a number of very senior roles at Allianz Insurance including National Financial Institutions and Retail remits, as well as significant time spent in broker distribution channels and underwriting, Network Insurance says.

Meanwhile, as previously reported by insuranceNEWS.com.au, IAG has finalised its intermediated division leadership team with some key appointments.

Darren O’Connell joins as EGM Underwriting and Christa Marjoribanks has been permanently appointed as EGM Product Pricing and Governance.

In other broking-related executive movements, Jasmin Gabrielli says she has joined Honan Insurance Group as Team Leader Commercial last month. She was previously with Fitzpatrick & Company Insurance Brokers and Fitzpatrick Financial Services, according to her LinkedIn account.

Ross Hayward announced on his LinkedIn he has left Arteva/Premium Funding. Premium Funding and Principal Finance merged last year and the business was renamed Arteva Funding.
