Lockton New Zealand ups team headcount
Lockton New Zealand says its team has undergone rapid growth and now comprises a cohort of 27 associates operating from three locations – Auckland, Christchurch and Hamilton.
The business is marking its second anniversary and says it comes “amidst a phase of remarkable expansion”.
“We are unwavering in our commitment to not only achieve growth but to revolutionise the market,” Lockton New Zealand CEO Peter Lowe said.
Lockton New Zealand began with a team of 10 employees stationed in Auckland. A senior team of nine recruited from WTW kickstarted Lockton’s Kiwi drive.
“A mere 24 months later, the Lockton New Zealand team has undergone rapid organic growth, evolving into a cohort of 27 associates operating from three strategic locations,” it says.
Lockton says it has 100% client retention rate within New Zealand and the client portfolio has shown significant expansion, particularly among primary industries, property management, investment firms, power and energy sectors, hotels and hospitality, infrastructure, fuel supply and manufacturing.
“From top NZX50 companies to mid-sized businesses, Lockton’s client base is marked by diversity spanning all principal regions of New Zealand and selected Pacific territories, including the Cook Islands, Samoa and the Solomon Islands,” it said.
Clients include Pacific Catastrophic Risk Insurance Company (PCIRC), the World Bank sponsored captive insurance company that provides natural disaster solutions to the Pacific Islands, and Lockton says it has created strategic partnership agreements with HealthNow and partnered with Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand, aiding fundraising and providing pro-bono insurance broking and advice.
The Lockton New Zealand team includes COO Melanie Harding, Head of Employee Benefits Niall Martin, Head of Captive & Alternative Risk Transfer Jessica Schade and Head of Pacific Ged McCombie.
Auckland-based Mr Lowe was formerly CEO at WTW New Zealand, where he worked for more than 15 years. He was also Senior VP at Marsh for more than 17 years until mid 2006, and has worked in the UK, Bermuda and the US.
Lockton’s regional CEO Paul Marsden, who has held the position since 2017, previously told insuranceNEWS.com.au expansion in other locations across the North and South Islands such as Dunedin are likely.
