JAVLN acquires Steadfast Underwriter Central business

New Zealand-based JAVLN has acquired the Underwriter Central business from Steadfast as the insurtech seeks to increase its scale.

JAVLN, which offers a secure cloud-based policy management platform accessible on any device, is headquartered in Auckland and has IT staff in Melbourne and Brisbane.

“I am excited to welcome the Underwriter Central team to JAVLN and look forward to working with them to support UC clients to grow their businesses,” Founder and CEO Dale Smith said. “Integrating Underwriter Central into JAVLN will increase our scale and ability to partner with other clients in Australia.”

Steadfast EGM Technology Chris Rouse says JAVLN is an innovative, forward-thinking business, and this deal strengthens their relationship.

“I am pleased to be able to offer Underwriter Central clients the opportunity to move on to JAVLN’s modern and easy-to-use cloud-based policy management platform,” he said.

Steadfast acquired Melbourne-based insurance software business Insurance Connect, which owned and operated the Underwriter Central system, for an undisclosed amount in 2016.

All current Underwriter Central platform users will be able to migrate to JAVLN if they choose, while JAVLN will also continue to support the platform for a period of two years.

JAVLN says the deal bolsters its Australian technical consulting and support capability, and the firm will work together with Steadfast to provide cutting edge technology to the underwriters,

Underwriter Central GM Justin Hurrell will join JAVLN, with all nine Underwriting Central staff offered roles with the firm.
