Howden recruits head for new construction operation

Howden Australia has appointed Alistair McBride as head of construction, as it looks to expand its reach in the Pacific region.

Mr McBride joins from PCL Construction, where he was corporate risk manager overseeing annual insurance placement and risk management strategies in Australia, the US and Canada.

He has experience in insurance and broking, including positions in Canada for Zurich and Aon, plus time at AIG in the UK and with New Zealand’s Earthquake Commission.

Mr McBride, who will be based in Melbourne, says he is “incredibly excited at the opportunity to build out a construction practice at Howden in the Pacific.

“Our goal is to become the trusted adviser to those in the construction space. We will build a practice based on a deep understanding of our clients’ business, what is of value to them, and then deliver solutions to not only meet but exceed those requirements.”
