Michael Herron has joined Howden in Sydney as head of specialty. 

He has taken the position after almost nine years at Gallagher and previous spells at Axa XL, AIG and several law firms. 

Howden says Mr Herron has an impressive background in the insurance and legal sectors, including leadership roles at major broking and insurance organisations. 

“We are excited about the value Mike will bring to our business, our clients and our continued growth,” Howden Pacific CEO Matt Bacon said. 

Mr Herron says Howden’s “people-first specialty focus drew me in. I could see they really lived and breathed it.
