GB announces general insurance leader

Gallagher Bassett Australia (GB) has named Scott Newland as its new GM General Insurance Operations.

Mr Newland has served at GB for eight years, where he held roles as its Government and Long Claims GM and National Operations Manager for General Insurance. Prior to his time at GB, he was employed at Marsh and IAG.

GB says Mr Newland has played a “pivotal role” in the evolution of the firm’s general insurance operations, crediting his work in improving its platform and growing its talent pool.

“One of the key achievements during Scott’s tenure is the successful transition from legacy systems and tools to a best-in-class claims platform and enhanced insights reporting,” GB said.

“This evolution has positioned GB as a market leader, delivering expert claims and risk management for the entire claims lifecycle and driving reductions in clients’ total cost of risk.”

Mr Newland says he is eager to continue to “bring together the wealth of experience and expertise within GB,” and utilise new investments in technology to help meet ever-changing client demands.

“Over the years, the expectations of our clients have evolved significantly,” Mr Newland said.

“It’s no longer just about dealing with claims and the outcome; it’s about managing the entire stakeholder environment and overall well-being of the claimant.

“Our approach has shifted to meet the changing needs and expectations of our clients, with an emphasis on improved choice of channel and delivering services that are easy to access and understand.”
