Gallagher head of metro branches Mark Saunderson has joined the National Insurance Brokers Association board, replacing Adam Squire.

Canberra-based Mr Saunderson is part of the executive team at Gallagher, where he has worked for more than 11 years. Once a professional baseball player for the New York Yankees, he also spent eight years at pharmaceuticals group Pfizer in sales roles.

“His leadership has been instrumental in delivering significant improvements in employee engagement, client retention and new business,” NIBA says.

Association president Gary Okely has thanked Mr Squire, saying he “led from the front” during more than three years on the board.

“Adam has decided to take some well-deserved time off with his family and NIBA wishes him the best of luck for his future endeavours.”
