Global broking group Gallagher has acquired NSW-based Hann Insurance Brokers for an undisclosed amount.

Hann provides property and casualty risk advisory services for commercial clients across the country, focusing on the transport sector.

MD Rhett Hann and his team will join Gallagher’s Newcastle office under the direction of Sarah Lyons, head of retail property and casualty brokerage operations in Australia and Asia.

Mr Hann took over the brokerage from his father Robert, who founded the business.

“Hann Insurance Brokers’ strong client relationships and transport niche expertise will expand our retail brokerage capabilities in Australia,” Gallagher chairman and CEO J Patrick Gallagher said.

“I am excited to welcome Rhett and his associates to our growing, global company.”
