Cyber seminar to help brokers ‘upskill and evolve’
Industry professionals must make the effort to stay on top of cyber, according to the opening expert speaker at the upcoming Insurance News half-day seminar.
Taylor Fry principal and former Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance insurance leader of the year Win-Li Toh will kick off the November 21 event in Sydney by discussing the evolution of the cyber threat landscape “and what this means for insurers, brokers and insureds”.
The session will consider Australian Prudential Regulation Authority data, recent regulatory and policy responses, and how the cyber protection gap differs for various types of organisation.
“If the past decade has taught us anything, it’s that professionals working in this space need to be able to constantly upskill and evolve – the cyber risk landscape demands it,” Ms Toh told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“You have to remember, in the scheme of things, cyber insurance really hasn’t been around for that long, which means it’s still proving its value for some segments of the market.
“It’s certainly an interesting time for this line of business and I’m looking forward to discussing the challenges and opportunities with our industry community.”
Ms Toh’s presentation will be followed by an interactive session – Busting Cyber Myths: Turning Business Concerns Into Actionable Solutions – with Coalition GM Sam Weaver.
Insurance News MD Andrew Silcox will then lead a panel discussion – So, You’ve Been Attacked? What Next? – featuring Wotton + Kearney partners Kieran Doyle and Nicole Gabryk, Porter Novelli CEO Rhys Ryan and Triskele Labs global digital forensics and incident response lead Richard Grainger.
The final session is Catastrophic Cyber Loss: Are We Prepared? with Marsh head of cyber Gill Collins.
The seminar is backed by event partners Coalition and Wotton + Kearney, and sponsor Australia Underwriting.
Attendees are entitled to four NIBA CPD points and four ANZIIF CIP points.
