Chase Underwriting Solutions has appointed Shaun O’Brien as construction director, starting November 18.

Mr O’Brien has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, working with teams and product areas such as energy, property, construction and risk engineering, and across segments ranging from SME to corporate and multinational programs.

Most recently he was Axis Insurance Services head of underwriting and he previously held roles with IAG and AIG, including head of corporate and specialty lines, head of risk engineering and consulting, national manager of energy and construction for Australia, and national manager of property and energy for New Zealand.

“Over the last decade, Chase has created a track record of underwriting and service excellence, thanks largely to the commitment and determination of its people,” Mr O’Brien said. “I’m really looking forward to working closely with the Chase team to bring them closer together and support them in discovering their next level.”

Chase Underwriting, based in Melbourne, was started in 2012 to provide services focused on the construction sector.
