CBN CEO commits to sleepout fundraiser
Community Broker Network (CBN) CEO Richard Crawford will take part in this year’s Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
The event sees hundreds of CEOs across various Australian industries sleep outside on June 23 to help raise funds for St Vincent de Paul Society and highlight awareness of homelessness.
Participating for the first time, Mr Crawford says he was inspired to take part in the event after seeing the impact of homelessness first-hand in Melbourne.
“I don’t think homelessness should be the issue that it is, in a country as wealthy as Australia,” Mr Crawford said.
“It’s something that can affect anyone, across any walk of life suddenly and in an unexpected way.”
“Hopefully my participation can shine a light for others on the issue, and perhaps drag out people’s blind spots on the issue.”
Last year’s event achieved a record-breaking $9.6 million with Steadfast CEO Robert Kelly and Group COO Nigel Fitzgerald, Chubb Australia and NZ Country President Peter Kelaher, and Marsh Head of Risk Management Asia & Pacific and local Country Corporate Officer Scott Leney, amongst industry figures’ contributing.
Mr Kelly, Mr Kelaher and Mr Leney are expected to participate again in this year’s event.
