Paul Hackett has taken an expanded role as Canopius Group regional head of distribution for Asia-Pacific, responsible for strengthening broker engagement. 

He retains his other position as head of marine for Asia-Pacific, Middle East and North Africa. 

“I am excited to take on this expanded role at such a pivotal time for Canopius in the Asia-Pacific,” Mr Hackett said. “Strengthening our relationships with broking partners and ensuring seamless access to our broad product offering will be key priorities.”

Canopius has offices in Australia, Singapore, the UK, the US and Bermuda.

Singapore-based Mr Hackett joined the business in 2018, overseeing growth in short-tail lines and scaling up the team.

Canopius says his leadership, strategic acumen and focus put the business in a strong position for continued expansion.

“Paul has been a driving force in our regional success, and his expanded role is a testament to his leadership and deep understanding of the specialty insurance market,” regional CEO Soon Keen Lee said.

“His ability to forge strong broker relationships and execute on strategic growth initiatives will be instrumental as we continue to enhance our presence.”
