Brokers back Insurance News strata seminar

Insurance broking leaders will participate in an expert-led Insurance News strata seminar.

The half-day event in Sydney on May 30, which follows March’s successful inaugural conference, will explore current trends and future challenges in the expanding strata sector. Tickets can be purchased here.

CEO at Whitbread Insurance Brokers Michael Giansiracusa will take part in a panel discussion on affordability, along with Australian Consumer Insurance Lobby Chairman Tyrone Shandiman, who is also a Brisbane-based strata broker.

Other panel members are Principal at Taylor Fry Jonathan Cohen and industry consultant John Trowbridge, who wrote a comprehensive three-part review of strata practices.

CHU CEO Kimberley Jonsson kicks off the event by discussing growth trends in strata, before Principal – Climate Analytics at Finity Consulting Sharanjit Paddam looks at the impact of natural disasters.

Bronwyn Weir – co-author of the landmark Shergold Weir report on construction industry compliance and enforcement – will talk on the critical problem of building defects, while NSW Strata and Property Services Commissioner John Minns will address concerns around maintenance and repairs.

“This seminar is an ideal opportunity for brokers and underwriters to learn about the many issues surrounding strata insurance at this point,” Insurance News Publisher Terry McMullan said.

The event is made possible by sponsor CHU and entitles attendees to four NIBA CPD points and four ANZIIF CIP points.
