Broker moves: WTW steps up client support with new claims role

Broker WTW says it has created a new claims role aimed at ensuring its Australia clients have all the support they require to recover from a major event.

The business posted the announcement on LinkedIn, saying it has recruited Bruce Ballment to take up the National Major Loss Advisor Claims position.

“WTW created this role to enhance our holistic approach to claims management for large and complex property and/or casualty losses,” Head of Claims Corporate Risk and Broking Julie Harriss told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“This is very much about reaping the benefits of ‘lessons learned’ and ensuring we are providing pre-loss education and strategic insights as well as connecting clients to the right people and the right advice at every step of the recovery and risk management process.”

She says Mr Ballment has extensive experience in managing major losses across general lines.

“We wanted to ensure his level of expertise was accessible to clients across the country when most needed and those deeper insights help us drive continual improvement in the solutions needed by our clients.”

Mr Ballment, who is based in Brisbane, was previously the broker’s National Claims Leader Northern Region for slightly more than one year.

Meanwhile, Gallagher says Amanda Mudaliar has been appointed National Practice Leader and is based in Sydney. Before taking up her Gallagher role last month, she was a senior consultant with Risk Advisory Services, according to her LinkedIn account.

Gallagher says in a LinkedIn post she started her career as an underwriter and spent many years as an insurance broker and then working as an insurance manager and consultant.

“She also obtained different perspectives from working with the insurance needs of a large variety of industries and being able to work across various geographies to develop in depth knowledge about a broad range of clients,” the broker said.

And Peter Button, previously Allianz Australia of Financial Lines, this month joined Gallagher Re as Executive Director Broking and is based in Sydney.

Before he started with Allianz in 2011 as Northern Region Manager Financial Lines and rose up the ranks, he was WR Berkley Insurance Australia Senior Professional Indemnity Underwriter, according to his LinkedIn account.
