BMS logo to be ‘proudly worn’ by Queensland’s rugby union stars
Brokerage BMS Group is the new Principal Partner of the Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) under a four-year deal.
BMS has more than 60 staff in Queensland and over the past 18 months has acquired six new Australian broking companies – including Brisbane-based Bluebook Insurance Brokers which was co-led by former Reds and Wallabies Captain Stephen Moore. He is now BMS Queensland MD.
Prior to the new agreement, Westpac/St George held the principal partner rights for 15 years.
The BMS logo will now be displayed "front-and-centre" on the Queensland Reds Super Rugby Pacific, Buildcorp Super Rugby Women’s and Rugby Sevens jerseys, including at the 2025 British and Irish Lions Tour of Australia and 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup.
The partnership also includes naming rights at the National Rugby Training Centre at Ballymore, which opened in June.
BMS Australia CEO Andrew Godden says the partnership is “a great fit as we share a commitment to striving for excellence and both value the importance of building strong personal relationships in local communities”.
"To be inaugural naming rights partner of the NRTC which is a world-class multi-sport hub is an honour,” he said. "This partnership is...focused on the development of rugby throughout Queensland while also ensuring equal opportunities across all levels of the game from grassroots to the elite.”
BMS Group, established in 1980, has offices across Australia, the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia. QRU’s other partners include Santos, Rio Tinto, Alliance Airlines, QUT, Lion and Westpoint Autos Group.
“The BMS logo will be on the front of the Reds’ iconic maroon jerseys which will be proudly worn by our Queensland men and women’s players during both international and interstate competition for the next four seasons,” QRU CEO David Hanham said.
