Bellrock names inaugural Mathew Pain Award winner
Bellrock practice leader for executive and professional risk Landis Michaels has been named the first winner of the broker’s Mathew Pain Award, which acknowledges an emerging leader in risk advisory and advocacy services.
The award is named after former Bellrock claims specialist Mathew Pain, who died a year ago aged 50.
“We are proud to honour Mat’s legacy with the institution of this award, ensuring his example will continue to inspire excellence in the field of risk and insurance for years to come,” Bellrock said. “He continues to be missed by all.”
Sydney-based Mr Michaels says he is honoured to take the inaugural award. He wins a two-week trip to London to visit the Lloyd’s market.
“Mat left an indelible mark on me and the wider Bellrock family,” he said. “His intellect, quick wit and extroversive personality in the office remain unmatched ... His legacy lives on with this award and I will strive to exemplify the best of Mat going forward in my career in this wonderful industry.”
MD Marc Chiarella says Mr Pain “remains a part of each of us at Bellrock, constantly in our thoughts and guiding us on how we should work and interact with each other”.
